## Where shall I go?

Open the field journal and choose Mossstep Hollow. Tap a numbered landmark, browse all destinations, or choose a direction to preview a connected waypoint. The proposed route shows time, terrain, likely residents, reward and required preparations. Begin the journey. Your explorer travels automatically; the route repeats in both directions while you are away.

A different destination queues a turn after the current path. Rest stops at the next waypoint without removing discoveries. Prepare a new pack there. Map lines between recorded landmarks can always be retraced, even after changing companions.

## What might I find?

Every path contains a gathering spot and a habitat signal. Recorded encounters appear under Worth a closer look and in Journal → Creatures. They never expire. Follow a curious creature, echo a listening creature's note, or offer shelter with three comfortable button presses. There is no wrong timing; progress between steps is saved.

Open a creature entry and follow its clues to focus research. Every signal in its habitat then works towards that creature. Scanner range, the Field lens, Shelter cloth and Signal sense can improve clue gathering. Rare luminous creatures need Luminous tide, a Resonance chime, or a Tide song companion. Tides change every four completed journeys, not with real-world hours. Once the clue requirement and conditions are met, the next relevant signal records the encounter.

Repeated encounters bring familiarity and Notes. Early companions remain useful: Root sense improves gathering in Mossfold; Marsh and Thermal guides open difficult routes; Survey intuition improves arrivals; Signal sense helps clues; Tide song makes rare conditions available throughout the cycle.

## What helps me reach further?

Spend Field Notes at Camp → Develop. Scanner range reveals farther routes. Station levels 1 and 2 unlock crafted tools. Pack one companion and two distinct tools at a resting waypoint. Marsh skis or a Marsh guide open wet crossings; a Climbing line or Thermal guide opens steep routes. Tools stay crafted across seasons.

Camp → Research explains each habitat study. Publish for 250 Notes and permanent Mastery without resetting anything. The main survey is complete after eighteen friends, twelve landmarks and three studies. Explore freely afterwards or review an optional fresh field season. Its review and confirmation show every reset and preserved record; no collection is erased.

## Returning, saves and settings

Offline progress is credited once and summarised together. The free hold starts at eight hours and can reach twenty-four through camp development and Mastery. The optional archive keeps thirty-two hours. A longer absence never removes previous progress. The latest 120 completed journeys remain in the history; lifetime totals, companions and discovered places stay.

Device appearance follows iPhone light/dark choice. Dusk is gently lit, Night deeper. Music, effects, haptics and Reduce Motion have separate controls. Device Reduce Motion is also respected. Sound follows the silent switch, mixes with your own audio and pauses in the background.

Progress is local, with a previous valid recovery copy. Keep an iPhone backup before uninstalling. Export a save copy from Settings for your own archive; there is no in-game import or account/cloud sync in V1. If a save is corrupt, the app tries the previous valid copy and preserves damaged files. If both are unreadable, changes and purchases wait. Retry recovery, or use the explicitly confirmed preserve-files/rebuild option. Rebuilding keeps every readable treasured record but cannot reconstruct unreadable data. It resets local equipment, Notes and position as explained on screen.

## Optional keepsakes

Four non-random cosmetics and one offline-hold upgrade are available through Apple when configured and connected. The free game contains all eighteen creatures and all routes. There are no adverts, subscriptions, premium currency or paid random rewards. Restore permanent purchases with the same Apple Account. Apple handles payments, approvals and refund requests. A pending purchase arrives only after Apple confirms it; interrupted delivery retries after saving works.

Every first visit to a landmark in each field season is kept as a permanent journey record. Only the routine repeated-journey list is limited to the most recent 120 entries; this never deletes the first-visit history.
